High Density Spray Foam

General Description

This EduFoam system is a spray applied, closed-cell, rigid polyurethane system which has been specially formulated to have an extremely fine cell structure giving high compressive strength, as well as a Class 1 fire rating – tested to BS 476 Part 7. The foam system uses HFC-245fa as a blowing agent, and therefore has zero ODP as well as a high closed-cell content.

Applications

This EduFoam system has been formulated to have a good flowability, manageable viscosity and excellent adhesion, making it ideal for spray work – especially where a high compressive strength is required — on any of the following:

• External applications — including weather-proofing
• Cold stores
• Corrugated roofs
• Asbestos Encapsulation

Application Equipment

EduFoam is spray applied using high pressure, heated, plural-component proportioning equipment, such as those manufactured by Graco. The foam system should only be applied by technicians competent in the use of this equipment to ensure correct proportioning of the foam components.

Application Techniques

This foam system is designed as a spray applied foam and therefore has a fast reaction time, this allows the foam to be sprayed horizontally, vertically and over-head with the minimum of waste. The foam can be applied in depths from 10mm upwards, passes should never be more than 30mm in thickness and full expansion should be allowed between passes.
